This is a gorgeous, rare factory Triple White 1971 Cutlass Supreme convertible in terrific condition, beautiful color combination with the White exterior, white interior and white boot, believed original white bench interior with only minor wear, rare power windows, power steering, power disc brakes, sport steering wheel, matching numbered 350cid, 4v carberator Rocket engine, strong compression, dual exhaust, Protecto-plate, Owner’s Manual (SEE LINK), SSIII factory body colored wheels, this combination yields a great look, very stock, new chrome bumpers, dual sport mirrors, one of the best, unmolested bodies that is available today, extremely solid underchassis, very original and solid floors that are still factory, quarters believed original,
ENGINE: original, matching number 350 cid engine with 4v carberator, matching the number on the engine of M195496, (SEE LINK TO NUMBERS), a real Cutlass expert pulled and detailed the engine to an exceptional degree even before Fraser Dante finished the car, has the proper air filter with the hard to get heat tube, Rochester 4v carberator, 4097565 factory intake, the heads are CFD 409 147s, this engine has excellent compression of 148 to 152 lbs across with a dry cold reading (LINK), this shows it was built relativity recently, has the full dual exhaust system, original type mufflers, hood pad, new battery with new battery wires for safe operation, GM hoses and proper belts complete the engine presentation, fresh tune just completed, excellent running condition with the final work just completed including the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, oil, filter, full check of oil, filter, belts, hoses, spark plugs, radiator flushed in the complete tune, it really looks terrific under hood,
BODY: this striking Cutlass ‘S’ has really terrific paint, just buffed and full waxed, looks terrific with contrasting red side stripes, original quarter panels, original solid trunk floor pan, extremely solid/driver condition original floor pans with solid chassis and frame rails, set up to use with great appearance, file has extensive receipts showing the history even before Fraser Dante initially went through the car, sold to a collector who drove limited miles while continuing the upgrading process, now back at Fraser Dante, top mechanicals just prepared for Spring 2014, the body is really very good, during the recent examination to check this solid car, the magnet sticks especially well, only a small amount of bondo is used in the middle front of the passenger side quarter and this is hard to see, all the chrome is in great condition, has the dual side mirrors that add to the great look of the white car with the red striping and nice trim,
INTERIOR: this has a great looking very, very nice original white interior, has the bench with middle fold down for the ‘Bucket effect’ with the factory seats, the rear seats and side panels are very nice, has factory safety belts, these seats do show some wear and minor splitting but all signs that these are original, all of these signs yield a well kept and unmolested Cutlass convertible, a top sub has just completed ‘getting up’ to present nicely, to replace said valuable front seats, there would be a costing of some $1475 but one would lose these originals, the front dash fascia with the black factory upper dash pad is detailed and in driven show condition, has the simulated ‘wood’ trim correctly done, the interior has been carefully detailed, has the rare original radio and the 8 track system still in car, hard to find the very rare original AM/FM A-Track radio with 8 track system, can not confirm radio working, 8 track would take restoration, has the original windshield header panel in black vinyl from factory that is attached with the Stainless header strip, (SEE LINK) areas like this show how well this car has been kept through the years,
has the factory Data Tag showing how this was made (SEE LINK), working optional power windows that is not often seen, with the original Protecto-Plate, has other historical documentation, history shows this came from a Cutlass expert before Fraser Dante prepared this car for Spring 2012, white power top works, the air conditioning system is just gone through, it is increasingly difficult to get all the A/C parts and make the system ‘blow cold’, a top tech just checked said system,
the dash is very nice, has a desirable factory optional sport steering wheel, the black carpet is almost new, the front and rear safety belts are in great shape, the trunk is solid and has the factory correct spackle just completed, has the jack and spare,
SUSPENSION/BRAKES: excellent braking system with front disc brakes and the full braking system checked (SEE LINK), the brakes have just been gone through to insure excellent driving SSIII body colored wheels, trim rings and center caps, Dunlop SP40 215/70/14 narrow band white wall radials, good alignment, extremely solid underchassis, very original and solid floors that are still factory, (LINK),
SUMMARY: hard to find with such a terrific, original underchassis, with the white car, the white interior, the white top, the white boot, very strong 350cid, all of this gives an outstanding look for a terrific cruiser, excellent mechanicals
